HSFBCY and SRABC: Working Together to Support Stroke Patients and Caregivers

The Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC & Yukon (HSFBCY) provides funding to the Stroke Recovery Association of BC to support and enhance SRABC's work in supporting stroke survivors and their caregivers throughout BC. The Foundation is a volunteer-based organization that leads in eliminating heart disease and stroke through the advancement of research and its application, the promotion of healthy living and advocacy. As part of its mandate, the Foundation supports heart disease and stroke patients in their recovery and the management of their condition. The partnership is a natural one as the Foundation believes in collaboration and cooperation and the fostering of productive relationships with other public and private organizations to optimize the health status of the people of BC and Yukon. To this end, the Foundation provides educational materials for stroke patients and their families free of charge, including the members of the SRA. The SRABC is an important partner in the implementation of a provincial stroke strategy being led by HSFBCY.  Both the Foundation and the Association are working together to ensure stroke survivors are given the best possible care and chance for recovery.
